TTG Travel Hall of Fame 2017 Star Cruises

Star Cruises

What do you think has kept your organisation so successful in what it does all these years?

Star Cruises owes its successes in Asia to its deep-rooted Asia heritage, as well as the ongoing support of our local business partners across the region, which has allowed us to pioneer and grow the Asian cruise industry over the last 24 years, forging new relationships and building new milestones.

We have been fortunate to have cultivated a strong network of business partners throughout the years and have been at the forefront of not only helping to promote Star Cruises, but also to educate the public about the many advantages of a cruise holiday.

We have also had the support of the media, including TTG, and local government bodies that have invested in improving and building cruise infrastructure throughout the region.

What latest innovations in products and services has your organisation introduced this year?

This year, we successfully launched new seven-night itineraries including a spectacular Golden Sea Route on board SuperStar Virgo from July until November 2017.

SuperStar Gemini will also begin her new homeport deployment in Bangkok via Laem Chabang International Terminal beginning December1, 2017, through to April 27, 2018, with iterinaries to Sihanoukville, Cambodia and Ko Samui and Ko Kut, Thailand.

In addition, Star Cruises is now offering more multiple homeports with each deployment across the region to provide wider and easy access for passengers in Asia to take a cruise with Star Cruises and to concurrently promote FlyCruise travel.

An organisation is only as good as its people. So, how is your organisation investing in the next generation of leaders?

We encourage and set up pathways for many of our employees to move up the ranks or venture into new fields within the company to widen their skills-sets and experiences. In addition, we are also enhancing our pool of talent, where applicable, with new blood from within and outside the industry, providing both a strong and new perspective of developing the cruise industry and reinforcing the Star Cruises brand in Asia. — Ang Moo Lim, President
